Risingfind looked down at her paws.
"Right, of course." she said quietly. she looked out at the water and sighed.
'of course he wouldn't care for you any other way, your just the leader in his eyes.' she thought to herself.

Risingfind looked at him and gave him a weak smile, trying not to show the pain in her eyes.
"I think I might need to be alone for a bit." she said weakly not looking into his eyes.

"As you wish." he said, backing away int othe nearby trees. He wouldn't leave her completely alone, just enough to give her some space.

Risingfind looked out over the water and sighed.
The tears fell quietly as she just stared at the water not saying or doing anything.

Risingfind heard a twig snap and jumped up quickly and looked around. Across the pond she saw a shadow, she growled and darted at him.

Risingfind dodged as something almost hit her. She growled and pounced.
The hunting dog howled as he saw the wolf coming at him, he heard his owners running through the tree's for him, their scents disguised as that of the wood.
"Come on little wolf, just try it." he said watching the white wolf pounce, then he heard the shot.

Eagletalon's heart raced as he heard the shot. Howling a battle cry, the sound shaking the leaves on nearby trees, He charged through the clearing at top speed, howling at the top of his lungs.

In the camp Stareyes heard a gun go off and jolted awake. Oh no! Hunters! she thought, racing out of the camp to where she had scented Risingfind and Eagletalon go to Risingfind! Eagletalon! She ran faster and faster.

Risingfind stayed close to the ground.
The bullet had only grazed her leg, it wasn't anything serious. She heard Eagletalon howling and she started to worry.
"Eagletalon get out of here!" she howled desperatly.
The dog ran and stood above Risingfind and laughed.
"Poor little wolf, think you could kill me huh." he barked then laughed again

The dog's laugh was cut off as Eagletalon crashed bodily into the dog, knocking it off ts feet. Risingfind! Get oout of here! If I can't beat a dog, then I don't deserve to be your Deputy."

Risingfind tried to stand but the bullet had cut deeper than she had thought.
"Eagletalon I can't." she cried. She heard the shouts in the distance and started to panic.
"Eagletalon their coming get out of here!" She was starting to feel dizzy and knew she wouldn't be able to walk away.

Eagletalon made his decision quickly. Dropping to the ground, he wormed his bulk under Risingfind and lifted up. She was draped over his broad back. He started striding forward, her weight slowing him down.

Stareyes saw them in the clearing and rushed to Eagletalon's help, hearing the humans in the distance. "Stay still, Risingfind."

"Oh hello Stareyes how are you." she asked sounding a little awkward.
