Scarletfind, looked at Starcub. "Lets see what there is to eat today", she suggested with a flick of her tail.

Starcub stumbled over to the food ditch. Just a couple of worms, as far as she could see. She picked one up curiously, before slurping it down in one bite. "Good!" she exclaimed, surprised at the taste. She licked her lips thoughtfully. "Wormy."

Scarletfind, raised an eyebrow (or what ever badgers have) in amusement then bent down as well and grabbed a worm, in disappeared in a matter of seconds. Scarletfind licked her lips. "Your right Wormy", she agreed.

"Okay," she replied, staying smug too. "What do you want to do?" her attitude faltered, it was hard being smug when asking a question. But she was the leader, right? And everyone had to do what the leader said.

Mama heard the voices of the others and come hobbling out of her den. The falling leaves were beautiful but she knew the brilliant colors were the forewarning of the colder season. She shivered and felt the old ache and again she cursed the two legs who had taken her mobility and her mate. But she would push past the pain as she always did. Again she heard the voices of the other badgers and she squinted in the direction of the sound. A young one and a cub. Now wait that wasn't just any young one. She was the new leader They were discussing what to do. Mama shook her head and shuffled over to join them. "Blackberries," she said decisively as if that was a clear enough answer to their quandary.

'Blackberries?!" Starcub gave her a quick quizzical look before her excitement broke through. "Where?! Where?!" she cried, gazing up at Biggie, as she liked to call her for short, with huge pleading eyes. "Where the blacberries Biggie?"

"Let's go!" she cried excitedly bounding away from Scarletfind and ignoring what Biggie had called her. That was the way she spoke, not her fault. "Hurry up!" she cried back to big mama, as she paused by the ferns at the edge of camp. "C'mon!"
